Welcome author C.A. Szarek to Ellite!
Chrissy is a very talented author with the ability to write different genres.  Her latest, The Tartan Mp3 Player is already out and doing fantastic!  I am very honored and humbled that she took the time to stop in and say hello.

1. How old were you when you wrote your first story and when did you decide to take writing seriously?
I have always been a writer. So I was very young when I started. I think I told stories before I actually wrote them down, too. It’s destiny for me, I think. But when I wrote what I could call a novel/story I was 14. It WILL NEVER see the light of day, but it was about a 14 year old girl (obvi I didn’t think outside the box) finding a dragon egg in the woods. LOL. It was full of magic and first kisses, too. Romance was ALWAYS a part of anything I wrote, even as a kid.
I didn’t “get serious” about writing until a few years ago. I never STOPPED writing, but decided to pursue publication and joined RWA, and my chapter NTRWA to find out the “How.”  I’ve never looked back and I don’t think I’ll start! LOL.
2.  Since you write multiple genres,  do you have a favorite to write and or read?
As far as writing, not really. I thought I would always been a fantasy girl at heart, but I really love my romantic suspense just as much.  I also write paranormal and YA, tho I have nothing out from those genres—yet. I am all over the place as a reader, too. If it’s good, I’ll read it. LOL. I tend to go through moods where I will prefer one genre over the other, but I still enjoy reading everything. 3.  What can you recommend for aspiring writers trying to make it in this business?
Never. Ever. Ever. Ever. Give up. This is hard. You will have to work for what you want. 4.  Are you a pantser or a plotter?
Pantser. I try to plot, but it doesn’t work for me. The most “plotting” I do is bullet points of things I know will happen on a word doc. I like the story and the characters to unfold organically. Works better for me and they’re more real that way.
5.  My famous deserted Island question;  (every author has to answer these) lol      You are sent away forever on your own private island.  You can only take one of each of the following;       Favorite restaurant: Antones Italian Restaurant back home in Ohio on Belmont Ave. (God I miss that place)       Favorite Pet: My baby boy, lab/border collie mix. His name is Tazer. (Sorry to my other two luvs, Harley and Bailey)        One book: OMG! One? ONE! ONE? How could I ever choose? Okay, The Deserted Island Survival guide! LOL
