Happy Birthday Crackerberries! We love your book, thank you for stopping by!

The Elite Blog welcomes Crackerberries to our site to talk about her amazing new release, Blackhorse 2015 by Solstice Publishing. Thanks so much for having me. I’m kinda nervous, never done this before.

Welcome, Crackerberries. Please tell us all about your book. What inspired you and what are you hoping your readers will take away from it? Well I’ve been writing for years, always have wanted to be published. Just never took that gianormous step.

Blackhorse 2015 originally was penned Time Ticks & Terror Licks. It came about because two friends of mine, Chip and Jody suggested I write a story about an electro-magnetic pulse. Sometimes when you start writing a subject, it takes on a mind of its own. There is a lot going on in this book as in life, there is always a lot going on. I hope the readers will find something they can relate to and feel like they are in the story themselves as they read it. I think the best thing to take away from a book is to be pondering in thought about the ‘what ifs’.

Who are your favorite authors and how do they inspire you?
Stephen King has been my favorite author since high school. I guess that’s kind of ironic seeing how he taught where I graduated. He inspires me because he tells it like it is. He doesn’t add fluff to make people think it’s easy. Not anyone can tell a good story. Everyone can take a course to learn creative writing, but that doesn’t mean they can tell a good story. King says tell it like it is. Don’t fluff it up with big words. Be honest to yourself in your writing and if it’s good it’s good. If it sucks, time to find a new hobby.

Tell us what you would like us to know about you.
Everyone thinks I’m tough old broad who can handle everything. I’m not as tough as people might think, and my feelings are easily hurt. So be careful or I kill you off in my next novel! (Which by the way is about a serial killer).

All my guests must answer my silly "Deserted Island" question. Fun

The idea here is that you must chose only one of the following in the event you ever find yourself on a deserted Island. (I’ve always thought about this, but never had so many choices to list. How cool.)

One Pet: Foxtrot (he’s my faithful St. Bernard/Great Pyrenees mix)

One restaurant:
This is funny I was trying to think of a good seafood restaurant, but DUH, I’m on a frigging island, surrounded by seafood. So I guess a good steakhouse. I don’t know because I don’t eat out, but any good steakhouse because I think Sam would like to have a good steak every now and again.

One book: The Stand – Stephen King

One Movie: Blackhorse 2015 (it will make a GREAT movie) OH you mean a movie already made? The Lake House with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock

One Person: Sam Elliot (20 years younger than he is now)

One luxury item like a hair dryer etc. Tampons

Thanks for having me, sure wish we could have had more cocktails during this interview. I know you are really busy with people to meet, places to go, cowboys to do! Oh, did I say that out loud?
